unpopular opinion: smoking is better than drinking
also, I remember having to wait for an ambulance to pick up a friend of a friend we picked up from a party - went to hospital for alcohol poisoning a week before his 21st birthday. Go easy on the drink, it takes a while to work its way into your system.

Drinking is pretty common here I’m noticing; I choose not to partake because I don’t want to harm myself. Being under 21 isn’t a deterrent at all; I just don’t want to do it.

Oh man 21. Jee’s it’s 18 in the U.K. but I was drinking Guinness at 14 and cider and lager (try mixing equal amounts cider and lager for a Snake Bite) at 13.
I still remember the first American’s face when he came into our store and said he needed something stronger to get through the crazy day e had. I said well we still sell alcohol after 10pm if he has his I.D. to prove he’s over 18. The look on his face followed by one word, ‘eighteen?’. I said ye’, the drinking age is 18 over here. I never saw a happier man or more confused with the amount of different kinds of beer, lager, whiskey, vodka, etc... he was like a kid in a candy shop with four aisles and 64 bays of alcohol to choose from. He went to tell his mates and the look on their faces was priceless. Oh what it is to be young.

See, I have asthma and I can’t stand the smell of smoking anyway. I already have some idea how my body reacts to alcohol, you don’t get though 2 years of college without having a couple drinks with friends. I’m want to avoid getting properly wasted because I know I would just say or do something I will seriously regret later. I have a bit of a habit of doing that sober.

I’m at work so my drink is coffee! First day back on third shift can be rough.

I’m kinda in a mood where I could use 1 drink after this nightmare of a shift. I’m with you on the not wanting to fuck myself up front but I am ok with drinking in moderation.

I have 15 minutes left on an 8 hour shift. I hate working to 11 on a Friday.

I love me a Capri sun.

Yeah, I’m completely fine with the guys doing it and doing beer pong, as long as they don’t hurt themselves or anyone else. A drinking feed was a bit funny coming onto Oppo for the first time in a few days, as that’s what I’ve been witnessing the past couple days.

I work 2 weekends out of 3. One is 2pm-10pm. The other is 10pm-6am. God, I want the job I just interviewed for so I can be done with that crap. Lol

Contigo is the only choice for a travel coffee mug. Anything else is just wrong.

I love that thing. I donated three other mugs to Goodwill after I first used it. I should’ve bought two at the time because a local grocery store had it on clearance for $9 when I bought it.

Thankfully my sister told me about the Contigo before I ever needed a travel mug, but now I have four different Contigo mugs since they started with the 16oz, then I got the 20oz, got a second one, and then this one . Love them all.

I have the one in the picture and one of the non-push button ones as well. That one actually keeps things hot longer, but it’s smaller so I don’t use it as often.
I’m older so I’ve had many more travel mugs. I do have one other no brand stainless mug that I keep simply because it’s bigger but not as tall so it works better with the cup holders in my truck. The contigo is really lose in it and sometimes falls over when I take a sharp turn in the truck.

All the Contigo mugs fall over in my Mercedes because it’s older and the Germans didn’t really master cup holders until 2010ish (full market saturation). But they do work quite well in my Golf, thankfully. The tall gets in the way sometimes since it’s a manual , but I try and save my coffee until I get to work.

I haven’t had a milkshake in a while. I should go find a milkshake tomorrow.

When I was a kid (I’m 34) it was 16 in the Netherlands, for lighter drinks (beer, wine), and 18 for the heavier stuff. It’s 18 overall now.

drinking is overrated

We’ve always had it as 18 but that hasn’t stopped anyone really. .
Hell one day we snuck a small bottle of vodka into an English lesson once. We each took turns distracting the teacher so another person could take a swig. Lol.
Oh to be young again.
